Jason Magbanua – A trailblazer, a visual storyteller, a game changer and a cinematic wedding director.

Jason Magbanua is not your ordinary guy. He revolutionized the art of wedding documentation in the country. His signature movie-like prenups and wedding videos make people sigh, cry and smile. Jason’s brand and reputation are known far and beyond. Clients all over the world wait for his availability. Brides-to-be want his “magic touch” in their wedding days.

But do you believe that despite his passion in video production, Jason decided to teach instead of saying yes to become an editor in one of the well-known post production companies after graduation?

Yes, this story of his life is an open secret. The significant “career detour” was a learning experience. He knew that at that moment, he wanted to help Sacred Heart College in Lucena set-up their AB Communications Course even if it means turning down the golden opportunity to jumpstart his dream job.

Was that a good decision?

For Jason, it was hardly a choice. He knew that he could always go back to his passion and pursue videography anytime he wanted. At that moment, he desired to share his knowledge and skills to students whose interests were aligned to his own. He taught for 2-3 years and absorbed the lessons from Father Nick Cruz and Kokoy Jimenez. He became fascinated in the production effects of One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Kramer vs. Kramer and Snatch films. His penchant for making wedding video a cut above the rest was developed. The teaching-learning period enhanced Jason’s skills.

Fate intervened again.

The turning point happened when one of the students asked him to videotape his brother’s wedding in Gumaca, Quezon. He hired other students with camera and lights, and with his Hi-8 video camera proceeded to the venue to capture the special moments. This rekindled his passion of being on the move again.

He decided to follow his heart. He left teaching profession and started his long-delayed career. He applied the cinematic approach to his wedding video materials and made them a personal expression of romance between two people in love. The result was astounding. Clients loved his concepts. His signature brand was born and changed the conventional method of wedding filmography.

As one if not the most favorite celebrity wedding videographer, Jason has a distinctive style of making every wedding video a visual presentation of love. Every wedding video is a short film that depicts the beautiful story of a couple.

Jason enjoys shooting weddings and prenuptials because the atmosphere is always positive. There is love in the air. The venue is perfectly chosen to sustain the magical moment. The guests are lively. Everything is fun, light and exciting. These factors inspire him to deliver output which exceeds the expectations of his clients. More often than not, people who watch his mini-wedding films shed tears of happiness.

Jason loves immortalizing rare moments and turning them into beautiful visual expressions of love for posterity. Jason Magbanua not only altered the standard of wedding scene. He becomes the “iconic figure” in the industry.
